Ilex verticillata (winterberry) with the peeling bark stems of Hydrangea quercifolia (oakleaf hydrangea) by the duck pond in Stony Brook Village.
Ilex glabra (Inkberry aka Gallberry). Such a great plant. It gets a bit leggy but that just means you should plant something under it :)
I will be winter sowing for KMS Native Plants starting this week and for the next few weeks. If you would like to learn how to do this, contact me for an APPOINTMENT on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. $15 includes instruction, soil, seeds (while supplies last), and tape. I have some containers, but I recommend you bring your own. 1 gallon translucent plastic milk containers are best for this project. You may also bring your own seeds. Make it a party by getting some friends together (5 or more) and it's $10 each!
Aromatic Aster the latest blooming aster starting now through November. great for our very late season pollinators. This is the cultivar Symphyotrichum oblongifolium 'Raydon's Favorite'. Another plus, it prefers drier soil than most asters. Other asters that prefer a drier soil are calico aster and Heath aster.
Labor Day Weekend Sale! 25% off regular price plants. (excludes sale items, delivery, special order and seeds). Open Thursday-Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 11-4.
